URL Displayed

Hi, Is there any setting I change in the config or .htaccess to stop G.Translate from showing URL's like http://www.railsaver.co.uk/gtranslate/t ... lways.html. I need it to just show url like http://www.railsaver.co.uk/sk/Chiltern_Railways.html or else some scripts on our page do not work. It seems to only show the top URL with gtranslate in it the first time the page loads after which when it is pulled from cached the correct url is shown. Thanks Paul

Hi, Please use our language selector on your website and it will be fine. Thank you!

Hi We cannot use the language selector on many of these pages as they are foreign language URL's that auto direct to the translated copy on our primary domain (eg: http://www.railsaver.fr auto directs to www.railsaver.co.uk/fr/). Also most of these users getting the URL's like http://www.railsaver.co.uk/gtranslate/t ... lways.html are finding the page on search engines and because the URL has all the extra GTranslate tags in it the scripts on the page do not work. Hi, I can see that you have a rule in robots.txt to disallow gtranslate folder indexing. I'm not sure where do you have a link to URL structures like that. Please check your pages and remove the links structured like that. Please write exactly what doesn't work, so I can try to figure it out for you. Thanks!

Hi Edvard The robots.txt is to prevent the sub directories on the site been indexed - they have in excess of 300,000 pages and when multiplied by all the languages that adds up to several million pages! We only want the root folder of translated pages indexed and that does happen without any problem but when users access from search engine results the url becomes http://www.railsaver.co.uk/gtranslate/t ... lways.html and not just http://www.railsaver.co.uk/sk/Chiltern_Railways.html Paul

Hi, If you see the mentioned URL in search engines only, then please give it some time to be removed per your robots.txt rule. Everything seems to be fine with your website. Thanks!
