Website in subdirectory

Hi, I've installed the free version which works good. But I wanted to be able to edit some translations and bought the Pro version for that purpose. Problem I have after following the installation guide is that when I enable the Pro version, switching to another language gives a "not found" The URl it's trying to load is strange. My site is in http://www.skyfocus.nl/Sky/ It tries to load http://www.skyfocus.nl/en/Sky/en/ I'm not sure if it's the extra subdirectory which breaks GTranslate Pro ... The gtranslate directory should that be in http://www.skyfocus.nl/gstranslate or in http://www.skyfocus.nl/Sky/gtranslate ? I have a live website in http://www.skyfocus.nl/ and don't want to disrupt that sites opperation. How can I install Gtranslate Pro in http://www.skyfocus.nl/Sky/ ? Regards, Arjan

Hi, If your website is in the subdirectory you need to install gtranslate Pro general . You can find the instructions here https://gtranslate.io/docs/57-gtranslat ... on#general

Hello Yana, Thanks for your reply. I did follow this guide but I'm still struggling with the paths. It has got something to do with the rewriting rules I think. Please correct me when I'm wrong: My website is in http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/ 1) the gtranslate directory (from the general path) goes to the root of the website that is http://www.mydomain.com/gtranslate/ 2) The .htaccess sitemap.txt and robots.txt goes to the root of my site: that is http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/.htaccess http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/robots.txt http://www.mydomain.com/subdirectory/sitemap.txt 3) The .htaccess rewrite rules are: # gtranslate config RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)/([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)/(.*)$ /$1/$3 [R=301,L] RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)/([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)$ /$1/ [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)/(.*)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2 [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2}|zh-CN|zh-TW)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1 [L,QSA] 4) I installed gTranslate Free (which works fine) and switch on the Pro Version 5) The config.php has got "nl" as a default language I did all of the above and the result is. -> When I browse to the main page it is ok. I see the Dutch language. The language the site has been written in. -> When I click on the English language it is rewriting the URl to http://www.mydomain.com/en/subdirectory/ and gives me a page not found Where am I going wrong ? regards, Arjan

Ok, I tested it some more and the problem was in the .htaccess file. This file should be placed in the root directory of the website. Apparently this did not interfere with the existing live website. The next problem I now run into is that when selecting another language than the default, the menu links which proceed to an alias on the same page are not working any more. They do work in the default language. Any idea how to fix that ? When hovering above a actual link to another page of the site the URL is correct: http://www.mydomain.nl/en/subdirectory/index.php/mynormallink When hovering above a link to an alias on the same page (#aliaslink notation in Joomla) it is wrong: http://www.mydomain.nl/subdirectory/#aliaslink The link does not work It's the same in all other languages. To test it for real you can browse to http://www.skyfocus.nl/Sky/ and switch to a language (not dutch). The "map" link is working, the "portfolio" link is not. In dutch the links are all working. Hi, Please put full links . For example <a href="#aliaslink" > should be <a href="http://www.mydomain.nl/subdirectory/#aliaslink"

Dear Arjan, In order to generate the links for the translated versions correctly you should put full links.

Hi, I just found out that my installation of Gtranslate is not working anymore. When browsing to http://www.skyfocus.nl/ and I switch to English (http://www.skyfocus.nl/en/Sky/) the message "You don't have appropriate license for www.skyfocus.nl domain name. Please purchase GTranslate Pro license." appears. As far as I know I did purchase a GTranslate Pro license and I did not change anything in the Joomla installation. Help would be appreciated, my English customers are not able to visit my site anymore ... Regards, Arjan

Dear Arjan, Please read the official end of life announcement for GTranslate Pro : https://gtranslate.io/blog/end-of-life- ... nslate-pro . Free version doesn't support manual translations. With the free version you cannot see edited translations. To switch to the free version you just need to change an option in gtranslate module settings page.
