Language always resets to Spanish on mobile

I only use Google translate for English to German translation. For some reason it will always reset the language to Spanish.
When I use the mobile site it sets the Translate from language to Spanish. When I use the app it sets the translate to language to Spanish.
Is there any way to pick a default language?
I even tried downloading the German dictionary so I can use that offline. I thought if that was the only language it had a dictionary from it would automatically go to that period but it's still try to do Spanish. I have to change it every single time.
