Caching and Translation problems since upgrade
Jan 16, 2018 8:49 am by spektrume
I have recently upgraded our site from the free GTranslate Plugin to paid and implemented subdirectory structure for languages. There are two problems since upgrading: 1. The dynamic text in the header does not translate. It gets generated by third party javascript and changes each day (a different Bible verse each day). 2. The Homepage formatting is all wrong *only on the German /de version. I think it is a caching problem since it is trying to fetch autooptimize files that no longer exist (autooptimize plugin was disabled). This is the site address: http://www.salem-dillenburg.de/ And the German version: http://www.salem-dillenburg.de/de/

Just to update the second issue: after about a day the Homepage formatting is working again - now it is just the calendar page formatting that is wrong (http://www.salem-dillenburg.de/de/evenimente/). The first issue of the Bible verse in the header not translating is also still a problem. How can I fix these problems? These things were working fine on the free version, but we need the paid version so we can edit some of the translations. Is there an option to not use the cloud servers while also editing the translations?

Hi, 1. Unfortunately GTranslate does not translate Javascript generated text as it translates text from the source code . Javascript text is not visible in the source . You can see only link to the JS <div class="textwidget custom-html-widget"><script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.resursecrestine.ro/web-api-versetul-zilei"></script></div> 2.If you are changing something in original page you can refresh translated version with ctrl+F5 to clear the cache .

Ok, thanks for confirming that. I changed it to an RSS feed and that worked fine. The only things that I haven't been able to figure out is the formatting on the calendar page - http://www.salem-dillenburg.de/de/evenimente/ On the Romanian version it works fine, but on the German version the formatting is off and the console error message comes back: [Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank. showbigcalendar @ (index):424 (anonymous) @ (index):516 The calendar plugin we use is Spider Event Calendar. Is this plugin incompatible or is there a workaround for this issue?
