[Solved] issue // page semi-translated
Jul 9, 2011 9:40 am by ors_86
Hi, I have installed and configure your software and it works fine. But it has some issues, and i didn find a solution to the forums. For example, at the url http://www.mysantorini.com/Santorini-Boat-Tours.html please select a language to translate, and you will replicate the issue, that aproximatelly the 50% content of the page are not been translated to the other language.

I just tried Russian and everything seems to be translated: http://www.mysantorini.com/ru/Santorini-Boat-Tours.html You havent performed enought tests in order to replicate the issue. I just tried the Greek language http://www.mysantorini.com/el/Santorini-Boat-Tours.html and the issue was replicated, the page was semi-translated as i mentioned. You can see at the following screenshot what i am talking about. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/97/40803900.jpg/ http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4571/40803900.th.jpg

Here are the steps to find out the reason for that. 1. Turn on debug mode from gtranslate/config.php - define('DEBUG', true); 2. Delete gtranslate/debug.txt file 3. Delete gtranslate/cache/limit.txt file 4. Go to http://www.mysantorini.com/el/Santorini-Boat-Tours.html 5. Check the debug.txt file and if you don't understand what is the reason, post it here.

How much time passed between step 3 and 4? I think that after you deleted limit.txt file it was created again while you were going to step 4. Do it again or send me FTP access to test it for you.

I have checked and can see this response from Google: Response: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "usageLimits", "reason": "dailyLimitExceeded", "message": "Daily Limit Exceeded" } ], "code": 403, "message": "Daily Limit Exceeded" } } Which means that you just need to wait. I suggest to choose the languages you want to have and disable the rest, so it will save translation traffic and you will get the translations faster.

Which means that you just need to wait. For how long we must wait untill google translates again? I suggest to choose the languages you want to have and disable the rest, so it will save translation traffic and you will get the translations faster. How much is the tranlation traffic that google let us to use? Is there any way to raise that traffic limit?

The daily limit is set to 100.000 characters. It is being used to translate the most popular contents and languages first. So to force translate that particular page into Greek you need to open it every day.

So you were right, it was a char limit issue, everthing works fine now, thanks! Onother issue is that i cant find how to edit translations, i read that i must put "?language_edit=1" at the end of the url but without result. Can you please provide me an example? Thanks

OK. Let's say that you are on this page on Spanish version http://domain.com/es/some-url.html. To edit something on that page, you need to go http://domain.com/es/some-url.html?language_edit=1 If your URL is something similar to this with parameters http://domain.com/es/some-url.php?param1=x&param2=y you need to add &language_edit=1 in the end, so it will be http://domain.com/es/some-url.php?param ... age_edit=1

OK, your server seems to be lighttpd. Can you post here the rewrite rules for gtranslate?
Re: [Solved] issue // page semi-translated
Jul 28, 2011 1:30 pm by ors_86
Of course, the rewrites are the following: url.rewrite-if-not-file = ( "^/([a-z]{2})/(.*)$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2", "^/([a-z]{2})$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1", "^/(zh-CN)/(.*)$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2", "^/(zh-CN)$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1", "^/(zh-TW)/(.*)$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2", "^/(zh-TW)$" => "/gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1", )

Hi, There is a need for QSA (Query String Append). You can read this articles where it shows how to add QSA in lighttpd: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1451 ... -variables http://forum.lighttpd.net/topic/7394
