Default Language

HI,
We have GT Translate pro installed with the redirection enabled for edited translations. We have tried to set the default language as "French" in the configuration settings but the site still loads in English as a default. How can we change this to match the default configured for GT Translate?
Any help much appreciated.

I'm not sure if you understood what is main language for. It is the language your site is written. It shouldn't automatically change the language.
Try to use English as a backend language when you configure the module settings.

or mayby 301 redirect (in .htaccess) will help sic
for example redirect from http://yoursite.com/ to http://yoursite.com/de/
