It's one and the same Joomla! but just have different domains?
How domains are done and redirected?
Do you use 3rd party extension for that?

Please find my answers below:
Yes, other domains are proxied to the main domain.
You can find a current selected language from this variable: $_SERVER['HTTP_X_GT_LANG'] and determine the current domain.
