Forum Archive - gtranslate not working on server

Hi, I have just bought this and installed as per directions, and nothing seems to be happening. i did the php info and everything is installed and running as required on the server, and i have the gtranslate module instaleld on the joomla site and it uses the redirect setting to make the translation. I checked the api usage through google and it has had no usage at all. When i click on the flags it looks like it is going to do something then it doesn't and no translations appear, any ideas? link: http://www.wmitchellfish.co.uk/ thanks

Hi, For some reason it is redirecting http://www.wmitchellfish.co.uk/fr/ to http://www.wmitchellfish.co.uk/ I doubt about this: auto_prepend_file /home/sites/wmitchellfish.co.uk/public_html/images2/administrator/scan.php What is that for? Also, your server refuses the connection, here is the cURL log: * About to connect() to http://www.wmitchellfish.co.uk port 80 * Trying 79.170.44.156... * Connection refused * Closing connection #0 Please consult your hosting provider about this issue.

It's security software but it shouldn't affect it. I have certain functions disabled on the server, are any of these required? exec,passthru,shell_exec,system,proc_open,curl_multi_exec,parse_ini_file,show_source

OK, your server denies requests made from the same server. Please check the previous post for more details.

Hi, i got the following reply from the hosting provider: "I'm afraid that cURL callbacks to the same server will be blocked by our Firewall, it is not possible to make connections back to the same server." Is there any way around this?

Oh, actually not. Can you ask them to make an exception for at least gtranslat/translate.php script? May be it is possible to do the same request from the same server through a proxy to the same server, but it will make it slower.
