Hello, I'm wanting to use joomfish for translating the French and making the French url and Gtranslate Pro to translate the rest of the languages. You had sent directions to edit the htaccess file which I followed, but as soona s I uplaod it, I can't access the site at all. Any ideas? Below is the htaccess file with the code you sent- thanks! ## # @version $Id: htaccess.txt 13415 2009-11-03 15:53:25Z ian $ # @package Joomla # @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - 2008 Open Source Matters. Hi, Try to comment the line as advised: ## Can be commented out if causes errors, see notes above. Options +FollowSymLinks Make sure you have line breaks set properly: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/fr RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2})/(.*)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2 [L,QSA] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/fr RewriteRule ^([a-z]{2})$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1 [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^(zh-CN)/(.*)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2 [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^(zh-CN)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1 [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^(zh-TW)/(.*)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1&url=$2 [L,QSA] RewriteRule ^(zh-TW)$ /gtranslate/translate.php?lang=$1 [L,QSA]

Thanks for the response! I followed your advise and uploaded the new .htaccess. It now allows the english & french (Translated by joomfish) to work, but none of the translations provided by gtranslate work, they go to a page cannot display page. I have tranlsation mode set to redirect, operate with gtranslate pro on, and open in a new window on. Any ideas? Thanks!! My htaccess file is now- ## # @version $Id: htaccess.txt 13415 2009-11-03 15:53:25Z ian $ # @package Joomla # @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - 2008 Open Source Matters. Also, I noticed then when I have the new .htaccess file in place, that once I switch to french, I can't switch back to English--it jays stays on French? Thanks!

I can see that you have 404 error page on languages for GTranslate. It means that you have some other .htaccess file in place currently. Also, you need to set a blank language code for English. So your site will be http://yourdomain.com instead of http://yourdomain.com/en/
