Upgrading Joomla! 2.5, with GTranslate installed, to 3.x

I am preparing to upgrade a Joomla! 2.5 web site, with GTranslate installed, to Joomla! 3.x.
Can I upgrade GTranslate to the latest version before I upgrade the web site to Joomla! 3.x?
Or do I need to export the tables, uninstall GTranslate, and reinstall it after Joomla! has been upgraded to 3.x?

Dear Eddie,
GTranslate doesn't keep the translation cache in the database. It keeps the cache in gtranslate/cache folder.
You can upgrade your Joomla website.
