You don't have appropriate license...

Hi, I bought Gtranslate Pro for my domain www.smellstoppers.com. I'm using the cached Pro version for most of the pages and for the cart pages I'm using the free on-the-fly version. I keep on hitting the error message: You don't have appropriate license for your www.smellstoppers.com. Please purchase GTranslate Pro license or go back. I have Gtranslate Pro working on another site without these error messages and am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Anthony.

Hello Edvard, to encounter the error please follow these steps:
go to www.smellstoppers.com and cilck on the japanese flag, then add a product to your cart and you will be redirected back to the English language cart, then when in the cart click on the japanese flag to activate the on-the-fly translation and then click on checkout and the error should appear.

You can cause the error simply by visiting the cart and using the flags and then checking out, it doesn't have to be Japanese, it can be anything. I have this method working on another site I've bought Gtranslate Pro for, www.seed-city.com. I'm not sure why it would work on seed-city but not on SmellStoppers.

When I go to http://www.smellstoppers.com/ja/cart it redirects me to http://www.smellstoppers.com/cart?lang=ja&url=cart .
Why that happens? Did you set a special rewrite rule?

Hello Edvard, I just sent you an email in response. Yes, I've set up a load of htaccess rewrites as this is what I had to do previously to avoid any errors. I appreciate that things may have changed but I always hit a blank page when checking out if I'm in a language cart like ja/cart. Hence the rewrites. I emailed you my admin username and pass and will now email you my FTP details if you would be so kind as to take a look. I very much like the idea of not having to do these rewrites and having different languages being able to checkout in their own language areas.

Hello, I have removed the htaccess redirects and attempted again just to use the Joomla 1.5 version. If I remove all the htaccess redirects I just get a 404 page not found error on all pages. I have no idea how the Joomla 1.5 version is meant to work, the readme makes it sound like the only steps you have to follow are:
installing the plg_translate.zip and enabling the plugin but that just results in 404 page not found errors. I then followed the instructions in the other readme for other sites and it worked but I get blank pages on checkout. If you could please just help me to install the Joomla 1.5 version and get it working then maybe that would solve the problem.

Hi Edvard,
Thanks for your time. It does seem to work now. My only worry is that say if you are on the homepage and you click on a language flag you are taken to www.mysite.com/de which is good but if you click on any of the article links at the top of the page, the nose image, the Stop sign or the Smell stopper bags picture you are taken not to www.mysite.com/de/article but www.mysite.com/article. It is the same thing if you are on the front page and click on a language flag then click on the first category picture on the front page, the big one that has The Smell Stopper bag in the bottom left, it takes you correctly to http://www.smellstoppers.com/de/smell-p ... topper-bag
However, click on the next picture along from the homepage and it takes you to:
http://www.smellstoppers.com/heat-seal-bags
Could you please tell me why one of them works properly and one doesn't? Is the difference the link itself or do you think it could be the cached SEF links? Once I've fixed this problem I will be very happy

There's also still a problem in that no foreign language users can complete the checkout. If they attempt to checkout on the second stage of the checkout they are redirected back to the cart which then says your cart is empty. You can see the problem by checking out, you can use the username tester and password cheese to save time in creating an account. Regards, Anthony.

I still have the same problem in when I try to check out as a foreign language user I just get redirected back to the cart. You can replicate the problem by checking out as user tester password cheese. I have 3 more sites running on a variation of this template and I was hoping to eventually have gtranslate on them all. Hi Edvard,
I don't think I've changed anything in the shipping methods file. When you say there was incorrect syntax in one of the files, can you give me a file name and I could try switching it for other versions. I just tried quite a few different things and it would appear that it works when I switch my Virtuemart theme from Vamazing to default. Joomsef and the bonus products module would appear to cause no trouble with it. If the default version works then I would expect the problem to lie in the components/virtuemart/theme files for vamazing. Would it be possible for you to have a quick look there and see if anything seems out of place? Regards, Anthony.

Nov 14, 2011 2:44 pm by natastna2
Hi Edvard,
After finding that the checkout process worked with the default template. I narrowed the problem down to the template/checkout folder and by trial and error found the problem was with 3 files, get_shipping_method.tpl.php, get_shipping_address.tpl.php and get_final_confirmation.tpl.php. Replacing these files with the ones from the default template seems to have solved the problem and I can now checkout in all languages. I also found that the links cannot be index.php? etc links but must be /smell-stoppers SEF links for the language code to be put in before them so I've changed that now and it all seems to work fine. Thanks for all your help and I'm sure I'll be back to pestering you again once I've got Gtranslate in on my other sites.
Regards,
Anthony.

Hi Edvard, the only thing I'd like to know now is if you look at page 2 of this conversation. I am planning on updating the Gtranslate Pro I'm using in Seed City to the Joomla version and I already have a lot of pages cached, would it be possible to keep this cache, as in move it across to the Joomla Module or would I have to start the cache again if I upgraded. Also, on page 2 I was having a problem using Artio Joomsef with the Joomla module and it was hitting a 404 Error all the time. You fixed this but I have no idea how, if you could let me know what you do to make it work with Joomsef I will not need to bother you in the future quite so much

On a page like this: http://www.smellstoppers.com/bg/uv-stas ... -stash-jar when you click on the small pictures, they fail to load as it is adding the country code to the start, is there any way to stop it from doing it for the pictures?

You can convert the cache. The cache format for non joomla version is in JSON. The joomla version uses raw format. The cache name is the same. If you check it will be very easy to convert. If you have made edits manually you can only convert .human files in the cache the rest will be translated again.
Check the system plugins order to fix that 404 errors.

Hi Edvard,
That's great thanks. I have a huge cache but haven't made any alterations so I should just be able to convert it all. I see when you mention changing the order of the plugins that the Artio JoomSef system plugin is now much further down the list and I assume that's what I have to do to fix the errors in the future. When you say that it should be easy to conver the JSon files to Raw format can you please let me know if you are aware of any programs I can use to automate the process?
Thanks for all your help Edvard, I'll be sure to buy a few more Gtranslates!

This should do the trick:
// convert cache files in gtranslate/cache/ru directory
$dir = 'gtranslate/cache/ru';
// get the files list from the $dir
$files = scandir($dir);
foreach($files as $file) {
if($file == '.' or $file == '..')
continue;
$file = $dir.'/'.$file;
$content = file_get_contents($file);
$data = json_decode($content);
$raw_translation = $data->data->translations[0]->translatedText;
// replace the old file with the raw format
file_put_contents($file, $raw_translation);
}

Can I just enter that code into a .php file and run it from my server so I could call the file convert.php and just run www.seed-city.com/convert.php? Could you please let me know how I can specify the output file or will this code simply overwrite the old files with the new ones? Also, I see that the code specifies the /ru directory. Would I have to do this separately for each language cache or can I remove the /ru part and run it over the entire directory?

Hi,
Yes, you will need to create a php file and place the code into it.
You will need to specify correct path for $dir variable and you will need to run the convert.php for every language. But don't run it two times if you don't want to break the cache.

I'm guessing that since the problem seems to be very similar to the one I was hitting with Smell Stoppers, I must have to re-order the system plugins differently than they are but I'm not sure in what order they should be in seed-city.com. Is it just the artio plugin and the Sef plugin which have to come after the Gtranslate plugin or is there anything else as I have tried ordering them this way but still hit the 404 errors. Thank you. Regards,
Anthony.
