English Selection Doesn't Work

1) Select "English" from the drop down and it converts it to another language
2) Select another language, then select "english" again, and it works.

What would cause this?

Please use validator.v3.org to check your website for html errors. Try to fix at least end tag errors. This will fix the template issue.
