Gtranslate Pro SEO Optimization Questions
Nov 15, 2011 6:06 pm by localdrugsearch
Hi, I uploaded Gtranslate pro to my website: I have two questions on items that don’t seem to be working correctly. First, while the site folders structure (, etc.) is working when you go to a page directly, from within the site it doesn’t seem to work. What I mean is if you go to the homepage and then click the Spanish flag, you still get and not which is what I would expect. Also, all the title tags and meta descriptions remain in English while it says for Pro they should also be translated. Great product overall. I look forward to any suggestions on how I can turn fix these SEO issues. Mike

Hi, I can see that in your page you use relative paths for links, ex. <a href="browse_by_letter.php">...</a>. You will need to use absolute path like this: <a href="/browse_by_letter.php"></a>. If you change the links on your site it will add the selected language code in the URL, ex. <a href="/es/browse_by_letter.php">...</a>. For your page you use a wrong HTML syntax, that's why your meta tags are not being translated. <meta name="keywords" content="..."> should be replaced with <meta name="keywords" content="" /> (note the self closing). You can validate your site with and try to have no errors or only few of them.
