Navigate back to standard language times out?

HI Guys
I have 2 issues that are causing a headache
1) the cache can not be enabled, if it is, the flags do not display and strange things happen.
I use the paid Google API option together with GTRANSLATE PRO.
2) defult gb-en language times out when I navigate back to standard language (en-gb).
It gives me this in the URL http://www.mysite.com/en and does not finish refering back to http://www.mysite.com
You have to browse the site for a few minutes before it will do the above.
Please advise what can be done to help cure this.
