English site translates to Afrikaans when USA flag is chosen

Hello.
I am working on a Joomla website and I am using GTranslate Free.
The default language is English (en-us), and we have two GTranslate options turned on, English and Spanish.
However, I think we found a bug.
If the user clicks the USA flag and the site is already in English, GTranslate will auto-translate the site to Afrikaans instead of leaving it in English. It only does this the very first time the USA flag is clicked. If they choose "Spanish" first, and then click the USA flag, then the bug does not appear.
I've checked the error log and can't find anything.
Please help.
