Switching between languages - not working easily

I have a simple site with only two languages - English and French
The language switcher is on the home page - http://www.mtlearn.ca/
When I switch to French, the site does not return to english very easily when I try to switch it back.
Any help?
The errors occur once I am signed in to the site with my username and password. It is then that the language switching does not take effect.
